Dell Studio 15 my latest possession.
Here are my tips on configuring it for usability enhancement in Linux based on following points
- Show Status of Num and Caps Locks
- Dell Dock Replacement in Linux
- Windows 7 Style Docking Taskbar
Dell Studio Lacks in Key(Caps,Num,Scroll) Status so on windows we have dell quickset compensating the same.
On Linux : Show Status of Lock keys status
Using your favorite method, install lock-keys-applet.
This is a gnome panel applet that shows the stats of the caps, num, and scroll lock keys of your keyboard.
Dell Dock Simplest Replacement
Use gnome panel and add your favorite entries in it.
size = 50
Expand – unchecked
autohide – checked
solid color – half transparent
instead of spending resources on various docks this is the cheapest and quickest method.
